A few years ago, I relocated here with my family. What started as a temporary contract slowly turned into a new chapter of life abroad.
How It Began
Moving to Portugal wasn't part of the master plan. Like many international relocations, it started as a job opportunity and soon grew into something far bigger.
The initial months were demanding — unfamiliar systems, new routines, and shifted expectations. Everyday tasks seemed more complicated than expected.
The Adjustment Period
Culture shock, uncertainty, and a lot of learning on the job were part of it. Yet gradually, routines settled in. We found places that suited us, met other families, and started building something that felt stable.
Why I Created Garden Stream Core
Most online information was either corporate relocation guidance or shallow tourism content. What was missing was an honest, everyday family viewpoint.
This site exists to fill that gap — practical advice drawn from real life in Portugal.
